The effectiveness of a CBD product depends on the reason for its use. No one method of consumption is better than others; they all have their downfalls.
The Fastest-Acting CBD Method
Not only is vaping the fastest-acting method of CBD consumption, but it's also the one with the highest bioavailability. When CBD is extracted into a tangible substance, it takes an oil-based form, which is hydrophobic by nature. This means that your body will have a difficult time absorbing the CBD and transporting it to the brain due to the high water content of your blood.
When you inhale the vapour or smoke that comes from CBD, on the other hand, it's utilising your respiratory system and not your metabolic system. This means a faster route to the brain and more bioavailability.
The trade-off here is that it results in a faster process overall. Although the effects can be felt within minutes, they will also dissipate within a few hours.
This method is good for immediate pain or short-term issues.
The Longest-Lasting CBD Method
Despite the comparatively lower bioavailability compared to vaping, tinctures taken sublingually can be more beneficial in the long term. As it utilises your body's metabolism, the initial effects can take much longer (upwards of twenty minutes) but will last much longer as a result (potentially 8 hours).
This method is better for persistent issues, such as chronic pain, anxiety, or insomnia.
