Asked 4 years ago
I just bought my first bottle, and the dosages have got me confused. I tried 500mg/10ml with little effect. How much should I be taking?

There is no universal dosage for CBD. The dosage depends on your body weight, body chemistry, the disorder you're treating, method of taking CBD, etc.
To effectively dose CBD oils, you should know the amount of CBD (in milligrammes) you're taking in one millilitre. Your method of usage is also important. If you like to vape your CBD, first confirm if your CBD oil is designed for vaping. CBD tinctures are made for oral usage and aren't suitable for vaping. CBD tinctures should be taken sublingually. Most CBD tinctures come with a dropper that can draw exactly 1 ml of oil when you squeeze the bulb.
Whether you're using a vape oil or a tincture, the formula to get the amount of CBD (in milligrammes) per millilitre is the same. Divide the total milligrammes of CBD per bottle by the total size of the bottle in millilitres. You can find the milligrammes of CBD and millilitres of the bottle on the label. You can also check for a certificate of accuracy from an independent laboratory to be very sure.
As stated earlier, there is no universal dosage for CBD. Dosage is mainly by trial and error. The key is to start slowly, then gradually increase till you get your required result. Be careful not to take too much than legally approved. If you are taking CBD for the first time, see a doctor first before taking any step.
