Does CBD oil protect the brain?
Asked 2 years ago
Is it true that CBD oil protects the brain by reducing the amount of damage caused by inflammation? If so, how does CBD oil interact with the brain to minimize damage?

There is research that suggests that CBD has neuroprotective features. Some of this comes from the anti-inflammatory properties of CBD specifically on the endogenous cannabinoid system. The ECS is a network of cannabinoid receptors in the peripheral and central nervous system. There is research that highlights the use of CBD in seizure disorders and in the treatment of Multiple Sclerosis as well as Parkinson's Disease.
These are all neurological disorders where inflammation plays a role so it is not too farfetched to believe that CBD has positive impacts upon the brain relating to inflammation. However, there is nothing that specifically speaks to minimizing non-specific brain damage.
