Generally, research into many medicinal mushrooms (Reishi, Cordyceps, Lion's Mane, Chaga, and Turkey Tail) is still, for the most part, in its infancy due to how recently traditional Eastern Medicines are beginning to pop up in Western literature. As such, the documentation of side effects in Turkey Tail mushrooms has been predominantly conducted on people of Asian descent, and so could be different for other ethnicities.
That being said, the side effects of Turkey Tail mushrooms are minor and infrequent, if existent at all, and could range from any of the following symptoms:
- Heartburn
- Cold and flu symptoms
- Constipation
- Stomach pain
- Rash
If you are concerned about potential side effects of Turkey Tail mushrooms then you should first check with a doctor as they do contain allergenic compounds that are common to most mushrooms. If you're allergic to normal mushrooms, chances are that you could also be allergic to medicinal mushrooms.

The side effects include Allergies, Low Blood Sugar, Low Blood Pressure, Liver Impact etc. The side effects do not outnumber its potential benefits. In fact, some persons do not feel any side effects at all. If you are experiencing any of the side effects, see a doctor immediately. One side effect can outweigh thousands of potential benefits.
