What Changes Have Been Made to the UK Law Regarding CBD Legislation After March 2021?

Since March 2021 only CBD products with an approved/validated novel food licence application can be sold in the UK. Licenced CBD is tested for quality & safety.

In February 2020, British CBD producers were given until March 2021 to submit a novel food license application to the Food Standards Agency. Since March 2021, only pre-existing CBC products with a validated or approved application can continue selling.  
The new law also made it illegal to launch new consumable CBD products without this license. After submitting their application, companies still need their products to be tested and approved or rejected.
Other Forms of Cannabis﻿Since 2018, medical cannabis has been legal but under strict regulation. ﻿
CBD (hemp) flowers in their whole form are illegal. Recreational cannabis and all products containing more than 0.02% THC are illegal in the UK(except for medical use), whereas licensed CBD products, with less than 0.02% THC are legal in the UK.
In Conclusion: Why All the New Cannabis Laws?This may sound like the government is trying to make life difficult for the cannabis industry. However, with the potential growth of the cannabis market, stricter regulations are needed to keep low-quality and fake CBD off the shelves to protect consumers. 
All CBD products that are approved and hold a novel food license will have undergone chemical and toxicology analysis so that consumers will know the products are safe.
