You're right, the British CBD market changed on April 1, 2021. Now, all consumable CBD products must comply with the "novel food regulations." To comply with these regulations, CBD brands have to submit detailed lab reports and documents.
In the transition period, consumable CBD products launched in the UK after February 13, 2020, cannot be sold. Brands that submitted a validated application before March 31, 2021, can stay on sale, while their application is processed.
If you have a prescription for medical cannabis, that is another story, and you'll still have access to cannabis. Topical CBD products have to meet cosmetic regulations and not the FSA regulations.
Many CBD companies won't be approved, or won't be able to afford the expensive required testing. The good thing about the new regulations is that all products on the shelves will be the real thing, and approved for safety and quality.
