Does CBD oil help a person with COPD to breathe better?

Asked 3 years ago

I have Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. I want to know how to use CBD oil for my COPD. Will CBD oil even help COPD or am I wrong in thinking so? Thanks.

One of the major benefits to CBD products is their anti-inflammatory effect, which can reduce the swelling of your airways. It helps many different kinds of breathing problems, such as asthma, so I think it's safe to assume it would help you as well. Less inflammation would cause less irritation as a result, which would directly lead to less phlegm production and, therefore, less coughing.

However, due to the nature of your illness being related to your respiratory system, you should stay away from products that require inhalation. This means no vapes and no smoking as this can irritate your lungs and make your problem worse. You should rather consider using CBD oils or capsules, which will have the same anti inflammatory effect. Don't be fooled into thinking that smoking CBD products will result in targeted anti-inflammation in your lungs, the effect is general and not local.
