Can Shiitake mushroom extract cure human papillomavirus (HPV)?

Some early testing shows that an extract from Shiitake mushrooms called AHCC could kill HPV. In trials, an AHCC supplement taken over six months had a 60% success rate in eradicating HPV infection. AHCC can increase the number and activity of the body's dendritic cells and cytokines which then fight the HPV.
