There are a few ways of checking the quality of CBD oil. Start by buying from a reputable brand, then check the following:
Colour: Good quality full-spectrum CBD can be golden, greenish, or dark brown. Broad-spectrum should be lightly golden, and CBD isolate should be clear.
Lab Reports: Quality CBD products are third-party tested and the lab results are public. The Certificate of Analysis should match what is written on the label.
Price: If the CBD is very cheap, it is probably fake or low-quality. If it's too good to be true it probably is.
Concentration: The label should state the CBD concentration of the product (mg/ml).
Extraction Method: CBD should be extracted with safe solvents like supercritical CO2 and not with chemicals.
Hemp Source: Quality CBD comes from naturally grown, industrial hemp.
Added Ingredients: There should not be added chemicals, but there should be a known carrier oil like MCT or olive oil.
Medical Claims: If a CBD brand makes bold claims that CBD can cure chronic diseases, you should be suspicious.
CBD quality can be affected even after it has been purchased. When it is exposed to light or heat it can lose its potency, and if it has passed the expiry date it's less likely to be effective.
