Does CBD oil help with migraines?
Asked 2 years ago
I suffer from chronic migraines, so I am looking for ways to reduce them and avoid the negative impact they have on my ability to function. I have heard that CBD oil acts as an anti-inflammatory, so I assume it will help to reduce migraines? Has anyone used it for this issue and seen results?

The American Migraine Foundation believe that CBD oil may help with migraines though they acknowledge that there is no scientific research yet that validates this belief. They state that this is because there hasn't been enough research yet. There is research highlighting CBD oil acting as an anti-inflammatory. There is a review study highlighting possible uses of CBD oil in treating headache disorder including migraines. This study highlights the historical uses of cannabis for the treatment of all types of headaches. In two small studies, CBD oil helped with migraine - one to prevent it starting and the other once the migraine had begun. However, there were only a total 6 cases reported. There have been another 12 cases in the literature with positive results so it is clearly early days.
