What are the benefits of using CBD oil for acne?
Asked 2 years ago
I have problems with inflammatory acne, and I am struggling to find an anti-acne treatment because I'm allergic to benzoyl peroxide. I've heard that CBD oil can be used for acne due to its antioxidant properties. Does anyone know if this is true and what benefits come with using this oil for acne?

Yes CBD oil can help in some cases on three fronts: It has antioxidant properties, anti-bacterial properties; it also has anti-inflammatory properties. Research in 2014 demonstrated that it had an anti-inflammatory effect on the cells that create sebum. Excess sebum is one of the causes of acne. A 2016 review article highlighted the antibacterial and antifungal properties which can also produce beneficial results by limiting infections that come from additional irritation of acne. It appears that the main positive impact on acne is decreasing the sebum so lowering the poor clogging that is a central portion of acne.
