Can a high dosage of CBD lead to feelings of grogginess and somnolence? - Cannabotech

Can a high dosage of CBD lead to feelings of grogginess and somnolence?

Asked 3 years ago

Evening all I tried CBD oil last night for help with sleep issues (constantly waking up throughout the night). The strength is 250mg for the 30ml bottle. I took a whole dropper 1hr before bed and woke up numerous times having experienced some real abstract dreams. I've felt groggy all day (akin to a sleeping pill after effect). Could this be because I've taken too high a dosage? Keen for any advice people may have. Many thanks 🙂

Although CBD is considered a safe compound, you might experience some side effects, including drowsiness and sleepiness.

You may increase your chances of experiencing these side effects if you consume your CBD with prescription medications and alcohol.

If you are a newbie, it's advisable you start with small doses, and you may increase your intake with time to create an optimal dose.

Before you start using CBD to manage health issues, visit your physician to learn how factors such as age, weight, and gender should be considered when deciding on the dosage.

CBD with a low amount of THC is not supposed to make you feel that way. A full dropper may be too much for a start, start slowly. You can also take it earlier, maybe three to five hours before sleep. CBD works differently in individuals, find what works for you by trial and error, and stick to it.

CBD is a natural product, and it is rare to hear that it causes side effects. If you are new to taking CBD, it is better to avoid high dosage in order to avoid inconvenience. To allow your body to get used to it, start with a low dosage and certainly avoid CBD that has a high or even medium levels of THC. Give your body at least 2 weeks to adjust.
