What are the health benefits of taking beta-glucans?
Asked 3 years ago
I've recently started taking Lion's Mane mushrooms before bed as I've heard how beneficial they can be for sleep. Someone mentioned to me the other day that Lion's Mane mushrooms are also a great source of beta-glucans. I'm not really sure what they are so I have a couple of questions. What are beta-glucans and how do they work, ie: are beta-glucans a medicine? What health benefits are there from taking beta-glucans?

Lion's has many benefits in the body, and one such is Lion's mane fungi soluble fiber, which is basically beta-glucans. While beta-glucans aren't medicines, they can be a supplement. Beta-glucans help to reduce high cholesterol, lowering it over time. They also improve skin conditions such as eczema, bedsores, wounds, radiation, therapy burns etc. Moreover, beta-glucans may help in allergies, asthma, flu, and even cancer.
