Medicinal mushrooms have often been touted as having a variety of therapeutic properties. Some even believe that Maitake mushrooms can help people with PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome).
Research suggests that Maitake mushrooms can lower blood sugar levels in the same way that some diabetes medications can. While this could seem like a positive thing, it might interact dangerously with certain drugs like diabetes medication and so you should always consult a doctor beforehand.

Studies have indicated that maitake mushroom extracts can have a positive effect on rats with type 2 diabetes. According to these studies, Maitake has the potential to reduce glucose levels in humans with diabetes. However, you should avoid maitake if you have low blood pressure because maitake has the potential to lower your BP further.
