How to stick to a sleep routine during the busy holiday season?
Asked 2 years ago
Hello all.
This holiday season is looking quite busy for me; some family members got married recently, some are visiting from abroad, some are bringing their kids, and all together, it might get quite hectic. I've had trouble with sleep this year, mainly due to some work-related stress, and it took me a while to recreate a healthy sleep schedule. With that in mind, I'm worried all the holiday chores and celebrations might mess up my sleep routine. What can I do to prevent that?

If you're not deliberate about maintaining your sleep schedule, it's going to get messed up during a busy season. Here are some things you can do to avoid that;
- Limiting alcohol or caffeine intake at night
- Following a 'wind-down' routine every day to prepare your mind and body for sleep.
- Setting up a sleep-conducive environment. Typically, this should be quiet, dark, cool, and comfortable.
- Don't be shy to ask to be excused. Remember that good sleep is essential for your mental and physical health.
