What is the optimal sleep schedule for deep sleep?
Asked 2 years ago
Hello all. I am looking to improve my lifestyle habits, and one of the things on my list includes improving my sleep schedule. I've been reading a bit about it, and most sources emphasise the importance of getting enough deep sleep. Apparently, I should be getting at least 1-2 hours of it, and I don't think I usually do.
So, what should my sleep schedule look like for that goal if I have to be up at around 8 a.m. every day?

It doesn't take long to get into a deep sleep, provided there is no issue with your sleep quality. If you go to bed before midnight and sleep for eight hours, you will complete about 4 hours of deep sleep by 8 a.m. What you need to do is to perform activities that encourage deep sleep, like limiting alcohol and caffeine, destressing before going to bed, sleeping in a cool, quiet, and dark environment, and exercising regularly.
