Can physical exercise improve my deep sleep?
Asked 2 years ago
During the last few months, I've noticed that I'm often waking up groggy and just...tired? Not sure how to explain it, but my doctor says it's due to not getting enough deep sleep. Her advice is to add more exercise to my daily routine, but I didn't quite understand why. How can working out help me sleep better?
Also, is there any specific type of exercise that is best for sleep?

While daytime exercising can increase your need for sleep, low-to-moderate intensity exercise performed in the evening can help you destress by promoting the release of endorphins and reducing stress hormones in circulation. This makes it easier for you to fall asleep and ensures that the sleep progresses as it should through its regular stages.
