Putting CBD oil under the tongue is not the only way to take it; it’s only one of the many ways of taking CBD oil. CBD oil has gained increased popularity mainly due to its perceived benefits in managing common conditions, including anxiety, pain, and insomnia. Here I take you through the different ways to take CBD oil.

Sublingually

One of the common ways to take CBD oil is by putting it under the tongue or sublingually. When taking it sublingually, you will need to hold it under the tongue for about 30 to 60 seconds to feel the effects.

Ideally, the longer you wait before ingesting CBD oil, the faster CBD will be absorbed.

If you don’t want to take CBD oil sublingually, here are your other options:

Adding it to your smoothie

Another great way to take CBD oil is to add it to your morning smoothie. This is especially so if the CBD oil has a pungent, earthly taste and you want to add a more delicious ingredient to mask the flavor.

In a capsule

CBD oil also comes in capsule form. CBD capsule is an excellent option, especially if you want to maintain a consistent amount of CBD oil in your body. However, unlike putting CBD oil under your tongue, it will take about 30 minutes before you experience any effect because CBD first passes through the digestive tract when ingested.

Adding it to your coffee

Infusing your coffee with CBD oil is also an excellent way to take CBD. Many CBD coffee brands claim that adding CBD to your coffee might take away the anxiety associated with coffee consumption.

Besides, some studies show that infusing coffee with your CBD oil will increase the oil’s bioavailability. The reason for this might be because CBD is absorbed better when taken alongside a fatty meal.

What about vaping CBD oil?

Vape pens have gained increased popularity in recent years due to their ease of use and offer a discreet way to take CBD. However, some researchers advise against vaping regular CBD oil as it contains a carrier, like coconut oil, which may cause health problems like lipid pneumonia when inhaled.
