Is it safe to take Cordyceps if you have an autoimmune disease?
Asked 3 years ago
I have type 1 diabetes and heard from somewhere that Cordyceps might be beneficial for improving your immunity. Is it okay to use Cordyceps mushrooms if I have an autoimmune disease or are there risks involved?

Although there are not enough studies to confirm or debunk this, some scientists believe that when taken by mouth, cordyceps can cause the immune system to be more active, and this may increase the symptoms of the autoimmune disease. On the other hand, some scientists believe that cordyceps contain a special type of sugar that can help treat diabetes. My advice is that you should see your doctor before trying cordyceps for any auto-immune disease.
