Is it safe to take Lion's Mane with an autoimmune disease?
Asked 3 years ago
I've heard that taking herbal supplements while suffering from an autoimmune disease can actually worsen the condition. On the other hand, I see that Lion's Mane supplements tend to help with inflammation and give a boost to the immune system. It just seems to have so many health benefits, so I was wondering if anyone had any more information on Lion's Mane and autoimmune diseases.

Research has it that Lion's mane possesses anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties that can help reduce oxidative stress that occurs in autoimmune disease. According to experts, Lion's mane can be useful in maintaining the correct anti-oxidant balance needed to prevent cell injury and dysfunction associated with autoimmune disease. If you are unsure about the safety, see a physician for proper medical advice.

Lion's Mane (hericium erinaceus) should reduce inflammation and prevent oxidation which can help the immune system. The mushrooms can support and balance the immune system and help manage autoimmune diseases. Lion's Mane can ease symptoms of stress and stimulate nerve growth which is important with multiple sclerosis. Beware of interaction with medications and of mushroom allergies.
