What are the long-term effects of taking Lion's Mane before bed?
Asked 3 years ago
Does Lion's Mane affect dreams at all? Will the immediate effects still be prominent far into the future if I regularly take Lion's Mane before bed? What are the chances of becoming dependant on them for good sleep?

Currently, there isn't much info on the effectiveness of Lion's Mane for insomnia and better sleep. The only evidence that Lion's Mane might affect dreams is from anecdotal home evidence on their influence over REM (rapid eye movement) sleep, which could have some positive benefits, though more research is needed.
There is some scientific evidence to support the mushroom's effectiveness in managing anxiety and depression, however. From this, it's not outrageous to extrapolate that taking Lion's Mane before bed could lower anxiety and make you feel more relaxed, thus indirectly assisting you in falling asleep.

While there isn't enough evidence of the Lion's Mane mushroom's effect on sleep, the research has shown its effectiveness in Rapid Eye Movement or REM, which helps to increase activities in the brain. REM is key for learning and memory. Moreover, Lion's Mane mushroom can help you with depression and anxiety. With all those positive benefits, it might also lead to good sleep, so you need to try and test it.
