My husband has a headache and wants to go to sleep. Is this a good idea?

Yes, it is bad as well as risky to go to sleep with a migraine, especially if you are unaware of the root cause of the migraine. It might lead to a big issue over time. Moreover, if the migraine is serious, your husband is unlikely to get a good sleep. It is necessary to see the doctor as soon as possible and take the steps to treat it.
