What are some common causes of sleep debt?
Asked 2 years ago
I noticed that my energy levels are much lower than usual, and a friend suggested I look into sleep debt. Though I have some of the listed symptoms, and there are some changes in my routine, I still thought I was still sleeping enough. Moreover, I added some naps to my daily schedule, and I don't have trouble getting up in the morning. So, I thought I would ask if there are any other causes of sleep debt. Also, do naps count as sleep?

Poor sleeping habits, sleep disorders, stress, work demands, social obligations, and technology are some examples of factors that contribute to sleep debt. Naps also count as sleep. However, their quality depends on the duration, and time of day. and nap environment. The most effective naps are those taken earlier in the day and for lesser than 30 minutes at a time.
