Do basketball players or boxers take CBD oil for pain and inflammation?

Asked 3 years ago

I was just wondering if there are any ballplayers or fighters in here using CBD oil for pain and inflammation. Or is there a specific CBD oil for boxers and ballplayers?

CBD was legalised by the world anti-doping agency (WADA) in 2018. Although most CBD products contain a small degree of THC, which is still a banned substance, they can still be used by professional athletes. This is because WADA has become lenient with its laws on THC. The threshold for THC is now 150 nanograms. This makes it possible for athletes to take full-spectrum CBD products (with 0.3% THC).

The world anti-doping agency realises the analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects of CBD. A more important reason is the fact that CBD doesn't produce the same effects as most cannabis products.

Many over-the-counter-drugs and pain relieves have several side effects which may even be more dangerous than the pain you feel. On the other hand, CBD products have very few side effects. Additionally, most opioids used for pain relieves like codeine, morphine etc are addictive. On the other hand, CBD products aren't addictive since they have little or no THC. If you consider the reasons above, you'll be tempted to recommend CBD products for yourself and any athlete around you.

Although CBD products have very mild side effects, you should still consult a medical professional before taking any CBD product, especially if you are currently treating any other medical condition. This is because CBD can interact with the metabolism of different drugs in different ways. Also, if you're taking CBD products for the first time, start with a smaller dose. You can increase the dose with time till you get your required result. While CBD shows a lot of promises, a lot of research still needs to be done to determine its safety and efficacy.

Like many athletes, there are basketball players and boxers who use CBD to reduce pain and inflammation. A lot of professional athletes prefer CBD to conventional pain medication because there are fewer side effects. Also, CBD is not addictive like pain medication, and it works!

In 2018 the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) made CBD legal although the THC content has to be below 150 nanograms. WADA recognizes the beneficial qualities of CBD and the fact that even full-spectrum CBD does not have the same psychoactive effect as other cannabis products.

Professional basketball players and boxers can use CBD oil to relieve their aches and pains, reduce, inflammation, and even ease competition anxiety. There is also a wide range of CBD creams, balms, and salves created for topical use on sore muscles. When applied directly to the injured area, CBD cream can bring relief to target areas.
