What are some natural sleep remedies that work well?

Hello all. About a month ago, I broke up with my boyfriend, whom I used to live with. Since then, I've been having trouble falling asleep on my own. Of course, I know time heals all wounds, but I'd like to help them heal faster, metaphorically.
So, could anybody recommend some natural sleeping pill or herb that worked for them? Like, what's the strongest herb you know that helps with sleep? Thanks!

While their effectiveness has not been well established, several natural herbs improve sleep. Examples include Ashwagandha, Chamomile, Lavender, Lemon Balm, Magnesium, Melatonin, Passionflower, Valerian root, and California poppy. It may be difficult to determine, which natural herb is the strongest, although Valerian root has strong sedative properties.
